Fried Sea Anemones (Ortiguillas) from the Ebro Delta

Fried sea anemones (ortiguillas)
Another of the dishes I tasted during my Easter holidays in the Ebro Delta was sea nettles (ortigues de mar), also known in the rest of Spain as “ortiguillas”.

Sea nettles, if Wikipedia is right, are sea anemones from the cnidarian (coelenterate) group.

They're served fried in a kind of tempura; they're delicious and have a deep taste of the sea. When raw they have stinging cells, which is where the name sea nettle comes from, but they lose this “property” when cooked.
