Spicy Trofiette (Trofiette Picante)
The other day, in the post about the radio programme, I mentioned that most magazines, whatever their subject, now have a recipe section.
Today I found an interesting recipe in a home decor magazine, Casa Viva, which features houses we'll never have, decorated with furniture we perhaps could have, but that wouldn't fit in our homes.
Trofiette Picante (in Italian, a final "e" is in many cases the feminine plural, so it would translate as "spicy trofiettes", but since there's no translation for trofiette anyway, we'll leave it in Italian. It's like saying "spaghettis": the final "i" already makes it plural, so the correct form is spaghetti.)
Ingredients
- 160 g fresh trofie pasta
- 60 g green beans, trimmed
- 1 garlic clove
- Gherkins
- 1 spring onion
- Parsley
- Basil
- Coriander
- Thyme
- Marjoram
- Oil
- 2 tomatoes
- Grated goat's cheese
Method
In a bowl, crush a sprig of thyme, one of marjoram, 3 parsley stalks, 10 basil leaves, a little coriander and a spring onion. Drizzle the resulting mixture with plenty of oil, and add the garlic clove and a little gherkin, both cut into very small pieces.
In a separate frying pan, fry the spring onion, add the sliced tomato and cook for a couple of minutes. Take it off the heat and add the drained pasta and green beans. Add all this to the oil and herb mixture prepared earlier. Mix well and serve with plenty of grated goat's cheese on top.
