How to Improve Bland Peaches with Sugar and Cinnamon
This summer I haven't been lucky with the peaches I've bought: only rarely did I get sweet, juicy fruit.
When they're soft, what I do is cut them into small pieces and, an hour before eating them, add sugar and a little cinnamon, stir and leave them to rest. They improve quite a lot.
The next thing to do is change shops — change peach supplier. We can't settle for low-quality fruit, least of all in summer.
Soon the Calanda peaches will arrive, which are usually excellent. Let's hope we get good ones — or we'll have to believe what some people say, that the best ones are sent to Germany and the weaker ones are left here for us. I hope it's just an urban legend.
